Tin Plating Process Steps for Electronic Wiring Harnesses

Every electronic wire harness is meticulously manufactured through multiple strict processing steps, and the soldering process of the twisted wire is a key link in the electronic wire harness processing process. The quality control of the soldering process is crucial

Tinning process steps

1. Preparation materials: electronic wires that need to be coated with tin, tin water, soldering flux, operating platform, tin furnace, environmentally friendly sponge, etc.

2. Cleaning the wire: Before dipping in tin, it is necessary to clean the electronic wire thoroughly to remove oxides and impurities on the surface, in order to ensure a good bonding between the tin layer and the wire.

3. Prepare the tin furnace: Check if the tin furnace is in good condition to ensure its normal operation. At the same time, pour out the tin water from the tin furnace and add an appropriate amount of soldering flux.

4. Preheating the tin furnace: Before starting to dip tin, it is necessary to preheat the tin furnace to an appropriate temperature to promote the bonding of tin water and wire.

5. Tin dipping: Place the electronic wire in a preheated tin furnace and let it soak in tin water for a period of time until the surface of the wire is covered with a layer of tin water.

6. Wire throwing: Throw out the wire soaked in tin water to form a uniform layer of tin on its surface.

7. Cooling: Place the wire after wire shedding into cooling water to prevent overheating from causing deformation of the wire or peeling of the tin layer.

8. Cleaning: After completing the tin coating, it is necessary to clean the operating table and pour out the tin water from the tin furnace.

9. Inspection: Check whether the tin layer on the surface of the wire is uniform and smooth, and whether there are defects or bubbles.

10. Testing: Conduct conductivity and corrosion resistance tests on the tinned wire to ensure that it meets the requirements.

Operation steps for tinning of twisted wires

1. Turn on the power switch and prepare to start processing.

2. According to the drawing requirements, confirm the product specifications and soldering temperature, and adjust the soldering temperature of the twisted wire according to the temperature specification table.

3. When the temperature reaches the set value, scrape off the tin layer on the surface and use a temperature tester to re measure the temperature.

4. After confirming that the temperature is normal, use your right hand to arrange the wires that need to be coated with tin neatly, and apply tin water at a vertical angle of 90 °. Then lift the wire and swing it to evenly distribute the tin water.

5. Dip tin again at a 90 ° vertical angle, and control the dipping time between 1-5 seconds. After dipping in tin, shake the wire again.

Precautions for Tinning Twisted Wire Processing

1. Before turning on the power, please ensure that the tin water in the tin furnace does not exceed the capacity of the furnace to avoid overflow.

2. During operation, do not touch the tin furnace with your hands to prevent burns.

3. After each dip of tin, be sure to clean the workbench to ensure cleanliness and order.

4. After completing the operation, be sure to turn off the power for energy conservation and environmental protection.

The Process Characteristics of Twisted Wire Tinning Processing

1. Increase conductivity: The main purpose of tin coating on electronic twisted wires is to improve the conductivity of electronic devices. Tin, as a good conductor, can increase the conductivity of electronic wires, thereby reducing resistance and improving the performance of electronic devices.

2. Enhanced corrosion resistance: Tinning the twisted wires of electronic wires can also enhance their corrosion resistance. Tin layer can protect electronic wires from oxidation, corrosion, and other effects, thereby extending the service life of electronic devices.

3. Mature and stable process: The tin coating process for electronic twisted wires has developed relatively mature and stable, which can effectively ensure production efficiency and product quality. Meanwhile, this process is relatively simple, easy to master, and suitable for large-scale production.

4. Strong Customizability: The tin coating process for electronic wire twisting can be customized according to different requirements. For example, parameters such as tin layer thickness, wire diameter, and twisted wire shape can be adjusted according to customer needs to meet their specific needs.

5. Wide scope of application: The tin coating process for electronic twisted wires is suitable for various types of electronic wires, such as single core wires, multi-core wires, coaxial lines, etc. At the same time, this process can also be used for various types of wire materials, such as copper, aluminum, alloys, etc.
